Why I feel the Bern

Since I stabbed my eye, I have been on a quest to make the world a better place. This was in 2001, right after 9/11 and it was in response to being equally insane and unable to join the military. I was such a young fool and I fear I always will be. The trauma kinda froze me mentally and also changed the pattern in my beard. That was almost 20 years ago. Bernie has been consistent for longer than I have been alive. I lived in Burlington and that gives me some insight into where he is coming from. The problems we face are so huge that we cannot rely on half measures or timid solutions that are driven by greed.

Greed is so messed up. It is a part of us and our ability to live together in a free society relies on good faith and cooperation. Bernie to me is cooperation and good faith. We can each see what a world of bad faith actors looks like because we are living in it right now. It is so easy to give up, and be apathetic. Bernie doesn't make me feel hopeless in a system designed to marginalize and strip us of our common humanity.

We need Medicare for all. We need Student Debt Relief. We need to act on Climate change immediately. These are existential threats that are far more expensive to deal with later. It is going to take more than just Bernie, but he is the leader we need. That is why it is going to take all of us. So in case no one has asked you, I am asking you to help in whatever way you can or at least give him a chance. No one in America should die from a preventable illness due to lack of access and affordability.
